PERSONAL MONEY TOOLS, EXPLAINED WITHOUT THE HYPE.
This page is separate from the Cosmic Genius business work. It is a short, honest look at common personal budgeting and money tools, plus a free planner you can download right now.
Disclosure
I may earn a commission if you use certain links on this page, at no extra cost to you.
These are optional tools and educational resources, not financial, tax, legal or investment advice. Nothing here is a recommendation to buy any product or security, and no outcome is promised. Review each provider's own terms, fees and disclosures before signing up.

An editable spreadsheet for planning a single pay period: what is coming in, which bills land before the next paycheck, and what is left. No payment, no email address, no account. It is an organizing tool — it does not connect to your bank and it does not promise savings.

Tools people commonly ask about
Descriptions below are based on what each provider publicly describes. Some links on this page may be affiliate links, at no extra cost to you. Where no approved link exists yet, the button is disabled rather than pointing somewhere unrelated.
Empower
A financial dashboard that can link outside accounts so balances, spending and investments can be viewed together in one place.
Before you sign up: Empower's own materials describe an advisory service alongside the free tools. Read what is free, what is paid, and how your linked account data is used before connecting anything.

SoFi
A consumer finance provider whose products include student and personal loan refinancing, banking and investing accounts.
Before you sign up: Refinancing federal student loans into a private loan can end federal protections such as income-driven repayment and forgiveness eligibility. Compare full terms and rates yourself; a lower advertised rate is not automatically a better outcome.

Credit Karma
A service that shows credit scores and reports from participating bureaus and surfaces offers based on that profile.
Before you sign up: Offers shown inside any credit marketplace are advertising. Check the actual rate, fee and eligibility terms on the lender's own page before applying.

Acorns
An app-based investing service that automates small recurring contributions into diversified portfolios.
Before you sign up: Investing involves risk, including loss of principal. Flat monthly subscription fees can be a large percentage of a very small balance, so read the current fee schedule against the amount you plan to contribute.

Four short-video concepts
Teaching prompts, written so nothing is claimed that has not happened. Each one explains a method rather than reporting a personal result.
Budget timing
Why a monthly budget can fail on a bi-weekly paycheck.
Explain that bills arrive on calendar dates while pay arrives on a pay cycle, and show how to plan each paycheck against the bills that land before the next one. The teaching point is timing, not a product.
Recurring subscription audit
How to find recurring charges you no longer use.
Walk through reading the last 60–90 days of statements, listing every repeating charge, and deciding keep, downgrade or cancel. Encourage viewers to total their own number rather than presenting any figure as typical.
Student-loan rate comparison
What to compare before refinancing a student loan.
Cover rate type, term length, total interest over the life of the loan, and the federal protections that are given up when federal loans move to a private lender. Frame it as a comparison checklist, never as a recommendation.
Starting small with investing
What automatic contributions actually do.
Explain contribution consistency, fees as a percentage of a small balance, and the fact that returns are not guaranteed. Avoid projections and avoid implying any outcome.
Running a business instead?
The free Cost Leak Finder is the business side of Cosmic Genius: a structured scan that reports hard-dollar savings, capacity recovery, cost avoidance and revenue recovery separately. Every figure is an estimate until measured.
